The Kefauver Hearing in 1960 would see Jake La Motta testifying that he ‘took a dive’ against Billy Fox at Madison Square Gardens in 1947. His admissions and evidence would lead to convictions and long sentences. Carbo would die in prison in 1976 – but the stranglehold over sport would go on, arguably still being involved in the present day
