Warhol’s Factory had four locations between 1963 and 1987. The original site was known as the Silver Factory. The walls of the loft on East 47th Street were clad in silver foil or covered in silver paint, the perfect artificial silver screen backdrop for the never-ending host of celebrities, artists, musicians and Warhol’s ‘superstars’. Outside New York changed dramatically and forever during theses decades; riots, protests, bankruptcy, corruption, and of course, Aids.

This series of mixed media pieces concentrate on Warhol, Edie Sedgewick, Reagan and NYC skyline. Warhol’s pistol and dollar screen prints feature as a reminder of the real world outside of the shining silver screen walls of escapism and fantasy.
